Amanda Bynes Held For Questioning After Wearing Hat From Barneys New York

Eyewitness accounts indicated that security personnel at Barneys New York questioned Amanda Bynes after she was caught wearing a hat she supposedly took from a rack inside the store.

The 28-year-old actress told security personnel that she wore the hat since she wanted to get away from fans and paparazzi supposedly following her. Store security personnel remained with the actress until the arrival of officers from the New York Police Department.

The former child star did not appear upset while talking with the police officers. Eyewitnesses also revealed that Bynes was not acting suspicious while she was inside the store. No statements were issued by the NYPD.

Bynes arrived in Manhattan last Friday, or nearly a week after getting arrested due to suspicion of DUI while in California last September 28. The Hairspray star faced a misdemeanor charge and held on bail before being released on the day she was arrested.

Amanda Bynes was seen walking around the Upper East Side since she arrived in New York. She was also seen riding a Citi Bike across Midtown Manhattan. She also attended the It Girl Prom of Nylon at the Gilded Lily downtown. The actress also revealed through Twitter that she is planning to transfer to either Columbia or NYU. She studied fashion at FIDM during her six-month rehab due to a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold during the summer in 2013.

The temporary conservatorship of the mother of Bynes, Lynn, over the actress concluded last September 10. A source revealed that the first indications of problems started after the end of the conservatorship The parents of Bynes exchanged greetings following the end of the conservatorship, but the father of the actress said since Amanda was already 28, she can do what she wants.

Amanda Bynes is currently under probation for three years after she was arrested for a DUI charge in 2012.
