Cheap Renovations Make Your Apartment Look Like New

After spending years in the same apartment it is all but natural to feel a little bored up. Renovating the place is a good option, not many choose owing to the fear of expenses that they these renovations will incur. Here we list some of the most inexpensive renovations that will set your place look like new.

You do not have to be an interior designing expert to give your pad some minor upgrades. The reason to renovate could be anything from trying to find better tenants, or buyers in case you are moving out to just for the fun of living in a new and different setting. Before doing any renovation, you have to be sure what is the purpose of doing it. The answer is crucial as it will decide how much you are willing to spend.  If you are on a shoe-string budget, here are some of the inexpensive ways to renovate the place.

Cleaning up

The first thing to do is tidying up all the clutter. This is a common feature that every luxurious surrounding shares.   Start with your drawing room and carry on throughout the home, weeding out every single thing that doesn’t belong there. Rid the bedroom of clutter, and anything that repels relaxation or romance, and hide it in some place where even you cannot find.  Dust your study place and collect all the stacks of papers that you saved for later reading but never found time to read and toss them into a recycling bin.

Improve lighting

Lighting plays an important role in setting up the mood or tone of a place. Only making minor modifications to the existing plain-old-boring CFL or Incandescent bulb powered lighting system can work wonders for the feel and warmth that your home emanates. Although installing a chandelier in your drawing room or dining place can be a little costly, the effect that it will emanate will be totally worth it. In addition to that, you can include an elegant lampshade in your bedroom and a couple of small yet good quality lamps in your bathroom and gallery area.

Change the wallpaper, or repaint

If you are staying in a rental apartment, then you might first have to ask your landlord for permissions regarding changing the wall paint. Most of the time, he should not have any problem with it. Paint that gets old actually makes the wall it is on look worse. While a new paint-job is not exactly that economical a proposition, it is actually necessary to get your walls do the talking. Besides, choosing the right paint can mean a difference between a tacky and a classy place. Neutral colors like white or gray can be a safe choice but at the same time they are pretty stale these days.  To get the whiff of the current trend, it is advisable to go through some editions of home decor magazines.

Decorate your place with flowers

Do you know going organic is the latest “in” trend. Instead of competing with the bling-infested neighbors, carve your own fashion path by using fresh flowers to ornate your living room. Freshly cut flowers revitalize even the most moribund of spaces in a way that no amount of precious metal or other ornamentation does.  With so many varieties of flowers, you can always change the look or theme of your space, and that too at a moment’s notice without burning a hole in your pocket.
