Frances Bean Cobain Discusses The Upcoming Kurt Cobain Documentary

Frances Bean Cobain made a number of revelations about herself when she was interviewed by Rolling Stones magazine recently. One of the most intriguing facts about the daughter of the late Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love is that she is not a fan of Nirvana.

While she said that she likes some of the songs of the band of her late father, including “Dumb” and “Territorial Pissings,” she said that she does not “really like Nirvana that much.”

Frances also talked about “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,” an upcoming documentary on HBO about the life of her father. She is an executive producer of the upcoming documentary that will be released on May 4. The documentary used band footage, interviews and home videos to show the story behind the renowned guitarist and songwriter.

During the interview, Frances Bean Cobain sat alongside a painting of her late father. She said the documentary will give her father the opportunity to speak for himself, and it will not be a hyped-up story of a dead rock star.

She said the documentary provides a lot of factual information about Kurt, who killed himself on April 5, 1994 inside his home in Seattle. Frances said the movie will not tell tales that were misinterpreted, revised, or retold in a number of different ways. It simply provides facts about the life of her late father as a child, a teenager, an adult, a husband and an artist. Frances Bean Cobain added that it provides all the aspects of Kurt as a human being.

She said the documentary intends to provide a candid look at her father who did not want to become the voice of the generation even as he led an extremely successful band.

She also talked about the time when she started to realize the extent of the fame of her father. She said she made the realization when she was around 15. During that time, she felt her father was inescapable as his songs were played even on the radio inside her car.

While Frances did not really know the band mates of her father, the former Nirvana members said that she gave them the “K.C.Jeebies” when she was with them. Dave Grohl would say that Frances was very much like Kurt. Frances Bean Cobain indicated that when she was chain-smoking and looking at the ground while sitting on a chair, they would say that she was doing exactly what her father would have done.
