FX Now Added Into Apple TV

A new application was added recently by Apple TV, the streaming-media device of Apple. Although the new app allowed it to outdo its rival, Roku, it is not expected to feature “The Simpsons.”

While the streaming-media box of Apple has a wide reach, it is highly selective when it comes to the channels it offers its users. The latest app added into the device is FX Now, which still has to come to Roku.

FX Now is a streaming application for FX, FXX, and FXM, the network cables of 21st Century Fox. It was initially offered to iOS and Windows 8 users.

After the rights to broadcast the first 24 seasons of “The Simpson” were acquired by FXX Networks in a prominent syndication deal, the FX Now application is expected to start streaming all of the 530 episodes of the popular animated series. However, the show was not yet available through the application on Apple TV.

A new website was previewed by FXX last July along with an application called “Simpsons World” that provides fans the opportunity to view any episode at any time. The app, which was separate from the FX Now app, is expected to be officially launched by October.

A representative from FX did not release any statements in connection to the report. The media-streaming box of Apple is among the most widely-accepted device in the market. It has a number of rivals in the market, including Roku, Chromecast of Google and Fire TV of Amazon.

The device allows users to connect their television into the internet so that they can stream videos using a number of applications. Although sales of the device from Apple surpass the sales of Roku, its closest rival is often hyped up since it has more channels compared to the channels offered by Apple TV.
