Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers Optimistic Despite His Injury

While Aaron Rodgers remained in the game of the Green Bay Packers against the New Orleans Saints, his third quarter injury may affect the bye-week plans of the quarterback.

Rodgers indicated that it remains to be seen whether he will continue his treatment in Green Bay following his injury during the 44-23 loss of the Packers to the Saints last Sunday. However, he said he will be with the team when Green Bay faces the Chicago Bears on November 9.

He said he is not going to miss any time. He scored during a 14-yard scramble, which were the only points scored by Green Bay after he was injured.

The Green Bay quarterback was injured during the opening drive of the Packers in a second half 7-yard scramble. He threw his first interception since the first week after three plays. The interception ended his streak stretching 212 attempts. Although he had another interception, he was able to pass 418 yards for the Green Bay Packers on 28-39.

However, it was noticeable that he did not play well after his injury. He seemed to remain inside the pocket most of the time and had shorter drop backs.

Coach Mike McCarthy of Green Bay said it was quite obvious on the way they played following the injury of Aaron Rodgers. He added that the team kept Rodgers in the gun and their quarterback-movement and whole play-action were affected.

McCarthy added that he thought of taking their Rodgers out when he got injured, but the quarterback remained in the game until the game was already out of reach. Matt Flynn came in for Rodgers with 3:16 remaining in the game.

McCarthy said they were considering the long-term when they talked about the injury of Rodgers. However, he remained and was able to score during the scramble. The coach added that Aaron Rodgers played smart and played safe to put off any future or additional injury, which may affect the Green Bay Packers upcoming games.
