Hugh Jackman Treated For Skin Cancer

Hugh Jackman, the “X-men” and “Les Miserables” star made public his new battle with skin cancer after taking his wife’s advice and checking out a mark on his nose that concerned him.

Jackman himself made the news public via Instagram this Thursday saying that his wife convinced him to get checked out. His tests revealed that his suspicious mark was in fact basal cell carcinoma.

The actor texted “ Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy she was right!” including a picture of himself with a giant bandage on his nose. The actor went to the Mayo Clinic which confirmed Jackman’s fears revealing that the cause for his carcinoma was long term exposure to sunlight, more specifically, ultraviolet radiation. Specialists from the clinic also added that a basal cell carcinoma like Jackman’s often forms as a small waxy bump.

Hugh Jackman who is 45 years old advised his fans to not make the same mistake he did and get tested. He also added that they protect themselves and use sunscreen. No more information about his health was revealed but unofficially Jackman is expected to recover before the start of the Holiday season.

Not all news was bad for Hugh Jackman as the same Thursday he was announced as the host of the “Christmas in Washington” holiday show, a yearly special that is taped on the 15th of December and is attended by the first family and many other important politicians.
