John Daly Diagnosed With A Collapsed Lung

John Daly checked out of the hospital following his collapse during a minor tournament recently. Doctors checked the 49-year-old two-time major winner and diagnosed him of having a collapsed lung.

However, he returned to the game within 24 hours after he left the hospital. He was also seen smoking cigarettes along the patio of the clubhouse. Daly said he was enjoying himself before he started to fall down while he was on the 18th tee. The next thing he knew he was already in an ambulance, which was scary for him, he added.

In a tweet, Daly said he was still feeling sore and has to cope with problems due to a rib injury he experienced in 2007, which caused a good amount of pain. He added that he was hoping to see everyone soon. The right hand of Daly was heavily taped, which he said got hurt while he was installing a new tire into the golf cart of his son. It also contributed to the problem he experienced on Saturday.

Daly said, it was necessary for him to adjust his swing to get a good grip and his doctor told him the adjustment may have contributed to his collapsed lung. John Daly won The Open in 1995 and the US PGA Championship in 1991.
