Katie Holmes To Direct First Movie

Katie Holmes is ready to add the director title to her CV as the talented movie star will helm her first movie. The star will direct the movie adaptation of the book “All We Had,” the rights for whom she got in July. She will also star in the movie.

Holmes will play a mother of a teenage daughter. The two of them live together and are struggling to make enough money to survive. The movie will be produced by Jane Rosenthal, who also worked on “Little Fockers” as well as Katie Holmes and Berry Welsh while the script will be written by “Fault in Our Stars” director Josh Boone. “All We Had” is the debut novel by writer Annie Weatherwax was launched in August.

When Holmes optioned for the movie rights it was though that she will only act and produce the new motion picture, however, the star and producing team found that it would be a perfect opportunity for her to launch her directorial career as well.

Producer Jane Rosenthal said in a recent interview that Holmes’ clear and original vision for the characters as well as Boone’s ability to mix the comedy and drama of day to day life will make for a fantastic movie.

Holmes’ latest movie, “Miss Meadows,” will make its debut during the Tribeca Film Festival and will be in theaters on the 14th of November.
