Nikki Reed Marries Ian Somerhalder

Nikki Reed officially married Ian Somerhalder on Sunday in Malibu, California. Pictures of the wedding between the26-year-old Twilight star and 36-year-old Vampire Diaries actor showed the couple holding each other while looking into the horizon.

Reed wore an elegant fishtail gown designed by Claire Pettibone while Somerhalder wore an all-white suit. Pettibone said she was delighted to design the gown for Nikki and wished them happiness in their married life.

On the day of the wedding, which was held at Topanga Canyon, Somerhalder tweeted that it was the “most beautiful morning ever.” The wedding is the beginning of a next chapter in the life of the couple, who were initially seen together in July of last year.

Around a month later, the couple adopted a horse, before they were seen at the Comic-Con showing their affection for each other. The engagement came in January, and they were seen again at Coachella cozying up with each other.

Nikki Reed revealed that their relationship is not limited to simple infatuation. She said the fact that they share the same passions has nurtured their friendship since last year. She made the comment before an award was presented to her by Somerhalder due to her work with animals. She added that they wake up every morning discussing what they can do to make the world better.

She also said they only had one disagreement since they were together. The dispute was whether the eyes of Ian Somerhalder are aqua or ocean blue. The co-star of Somerhalder on the Vampire Diaries, Kat Graham, said the two stars are perfect for each other.

She said she has not met two people who are the ideal soul mates. She said their work with the Humane Society and their desire to improve the world makes their partnership perfect. Graham also said it is exciting to see how the two have become a couple.

The marriage is the first for Ian Somerhalder while it is the second for Nikki Reed, who divorced Paul MacDonald last year.
