Official "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Title Draws Mixed Reactions

When the official title of the upcoming sequel to the “Man of Steel” movie, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," was released, it received a good amount of criticism over the internet. Fans have considered the title as a placeholder since it shows the two superheroes coming together in one movie.

The official title was finally revealed on Wednesday together with an announcement that the project was already being produced in Detroit. Numerous fans tweeted about the official title, some of which were not quite pleasant.

One fan thought it was a new Far Right Group while another tweeted that the official title seemed to be the title of a comeback movie of Steven Seagal.

Another fan tweeted that the title showed the reason why Batman appears sad, apparently referring to the first look of the Batman character of Ben Affleck. One fan tweeted that the title was like a DVD movie that can be found inside a bargain bin.

One fan even asked if anyone liked the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” official title. Chris Stuckman tweeted that the “V” on the title made him read it as “Batman 5 Superman.”

Some fans were apprehensive of a secret that may be hidden on the official title of the upcoming movie. One fan tweeted that the movie may be a law movie or is a lawsuit.

However, the press release of Warner Bros. did not give any indications that it was a lawsuit. The statement revealed the new logo and official title along with a confirmation that the script was written by Chris Terrio. The director of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was earlier revealed to be Zack Snyder.

Aside from Affleck, Superman will be played by Henry Cavill while Gal Gadot takes the role of Wonder Woman. Some stars from the “Man of Steel” will also be returning to the sequel, including Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne. Lex Luthor will be played by Jesse Eisenberg while the butler of Bruce Wayne, Alfred, will be played by Jeremy Irons.

The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie is expected to reach the big screen on May 6, 2016.
