Pandora App To Be Released For The Apple Watch

Pandora revealed that it will release an app for the Apple Watch to allow users to control music once the smartwatch is released into the market. The company made the revelation through a blog post and as it became the first streaming music service to reveal its plans of releasing an app for the wearable device.

The app provides users the capability on adjusting volume, changing tracks as well as checking on what’s playing on the smartwatch of Apple. The release of the Apple Watch is highly anticipated by Apple along with a number of companies offering wearable devices in the market.

Consumer response to the first new product under Tim Cook will be carefully scrutinized as it will give an indication of the success of the Apple CEO who took over the post from the late Steve Jobs. It also provides a gauge on the mass-market appeal of wearable technology.

Pandora is the biggest online music streaming service with over 81 million monthly listeners. The growth of Pandora is closely linked to the products of Apple. The company revealed that the presence of the first model of the iPhone during its launch allowed it to break away from a number of online radio services. The online music streaming service was also supported by the Apple iPad after it became available in the market.

Apple will start to accept preorders for its smartwatch offering at 12:01 AM PT on Friday. The price tag of the wearable device starts at $349 for the basic model. The gold premium model will have a price tag of around $17,000. The Apple watch will be released into the market by April 24, and will be offered through Apple Stores and a number of retailers.
