Upgrade Plan For iPhone To Be Offered By Verizon

Verizon announced the availability of an upgrade option to the latest model of the iPhone every year for buyers of the smartphones of Apple set to be released on Friday. It will be necessary for customers to select the monthly device payment option of Verizon instead of the full-cost option of the device. They will also have to surrender their previous iPhone model to get the latest model every year.

The program give customers who purchase the iPhone 6S or 6S Plus the chance to upgrade to the next iPhone model with it is released into the market next year without having to pay for the balance of their current smartphone. This indicates that customers will lonely have to pay for half of the monthly payments before they can upgrade while the monthly payments continue.

A spokeswoman for the biggest wireless carrier in the United States said customer can upgrade their devices without having to worry about the balance for their current smartphone since the payments will continue even after they receive the new smartphone. Once they pay off all 24 months, they can turn in the smartphone and receive its trade-in value.

The upgrade program of Verizon comes as other wireless service providers are starting to require customers to pay for the full-price of the device instead of the traditional 24-month contract, which includes subsidies for the devices. T-Mobile ditched contracts over two years ago, becoming the first major wireless carrier in the United States to do this. Verizon also announced that two-year contracts will not be available to new customers.

The iPhone upgrade program of the wireless carrier is similar to an upgrade program offered by Apple to buyers of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. A monthly fee is required for the iPhone upgrade program of Apple. Two-year contracts are still being offered by the tech giant for customers who want it.

No-interest plans are also available for premium smartphones since these devices can be quite expensive. Leasing programs are also offered by Sprint and T-Mobile. The leasing program of Sprint for a new iPhone costs $15 each month with an upgrade option that customers can use any time.

Samsung is also aiming to introduce its own leasing program wherein its flagship Galaxy smartphones can be leased by US customers.
