Verizon Wireless Website Displays HTC One M8 Phone

It appears that the HTC One (M8) is set to be released into the market soon. This was hinted through an image of the Windows Phone-powered device that was posted on the website of Verizon Wireless.

The device was identified to be the HTC M8 Windows phone according to the image’s URL. However, the URL did not provide any other information about the device, which is expected to be offered by the mobile wireless provider.

A media event is set to be held on August 19 in New York by HTC. Even though the company did not give any details about the upcoming event, reports pointed to the possible launch of the HTC One version using the Windows Phone 8.1 OS. The smartphone is considered to be among the best Android smartphones to enter the market this year. The image on the Verizon website indicates that the device will be entering the market soon.

Industry watchers indicate that the HTC Windows Phone can be considered a rebranding of the current smartphone. It will also feature the soon-to-be-released Windows Phone 8.1 update. The update is expected to support Voice over LTE, a feature integrated into the M8 for Windows.

The upcoming smartphone is anticipated to feature a five-inch display screen, metal body, and dual cameras at the back. There may be some other features that the upcoming smartphone may offer once it is released into the market.

Verizon Wireless already has a Windows Phone-powered smartphone in the market. The HTC 8X is available at around $50 with a two year service contract. Analysts have indicated that consumers are better off acquiring the Nokia Lumia Icon, which is offered for free with a similar two-year service contract. Buyers are advised to acquire the Lumia Icon until the HTC One M8 is released by Verizon Wireless into the market.
