White House Confirms Death Of Kayla Mueller

President Barack Obama confirmed reports that Kayla Mueller has died. ISIS had claimed earlier that the American hostage was killed by an airstrike by Jordan.

The statement of the president indicated that he was profoundly saddened after learning of the death of Mueller. He conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of Kayla along with everyone who loved the young woman. While ISIS claimed that Mueller was killed last Friday, there was no proof of the death of the American hostage.

A White House National Security Council spokesperson said that a private message from the captors of Kayla was sent to the family of Mueller.

NSC spokesperson Bernadette Meehan revealed that they concluded the Kayla Mueller was already dead after the intelligence community authenticated the information sent by ISIS. The information included photographic evidence, according to a US official. The official also revealed that it was uncertain how Mueller was killed as the proof did not give indications that an airstrike caused her death.
