Xiaomi Mi Band Set To Be Released

Xiaomi is set to unveil the Mi Band into the market. The fitness band from the Chinese manufacturer will reportedly be sold at rock-bottom prices. The price tag of the upcoming device is at 79 yuan or around 10 Euros or $13.

Although the low-priced fitness band will enter the market by Monday, some industry watchers may have some misgivings about the product. The device is the first wearable device offered by the company whose devices have started to gain a good amount of ground in the market. The fitness band is capable of monitoring and facilitating any exercise routine of the user. It can also wake up users if they oversleep. A single battery charge of the wearable device can last for thirty days.

The Mi Band is also water-resistant at depths of over three feet, which allows it to monitor the swimming routines of its users.

Despite all of these features, the wearable device from Xiaomi does have a number of limitations. The device will initially become available in the Chinese market. The company has not yet announced its release into the international market. Although the device can be used together with a smartphone, allowing it to offer additional features, it is only compatible with smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi. Among the additional features that it may offer when it is positioned near a smartphone is the capability of unlocking the smartphone.

The device will be offered in a number of color options, including black, blue, brown, pink gray and purple. It also comes with the Android 4.4 OS and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Xiaomi wearable device is expected to become popular in the market due to its low price tag. The Xiaomi Mi Band is significantly cheaper compared to the Jawbone Up24 and Pebble Steel, which are priced at $150 and $240, respectively.
