Angelica and Angelina Sabuco were the conjoined twins successfully separated last week at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. The team who took part of the case was 40 doctors, nurses and hospital staff.

According to hospital officials, Angelica and Angelina Sabuco, both two-year olds were doing great and the girls can now occupy their own car seat. Fortunately, the twins are no longer advised to take pain killers and their livers are functioning well. However, the twins were advised to see Dr. Peter Lorenz, a plastic surgeon for follow-up procedures.

According to Dr. Peter Lorenz, the twins’ chest walls have an abnormal shape, but these can be molded as they grow up. Likewise, the twins will have to continue with physical and occupational therapy to develop their motor skills and strength.

The girls appeared at ease in their post-surgery debut during a news conference at the hospital. While wearing their bright red dresses, the twins waved and said hello to approaching reporters.

It certainly is an exciting new life for the twins for they can now do things separately like, sleeping in their own beds and walk on their own.
