Pittsburgh Steelers Wins Game Despite Losing Three Key Players

Although the Pittsburgh Steelers lost a number of players, its defense allowed the team to claim the win against the Carolina Panthers. Ryan Shazier and Jarvis Jones were not able to finish the game due to injuries. Shazier injured his knee while Jones suffered a wrist injury.

Ike Taylor also left the game after he broke his right forearm in the third quarter. He may be placed on the short-term injured list and may be out for at least eight weeks.

Brett Keisel, defensive end of Pittsburgh, said it was not good for Taylor to leave the game after getting injured since he was a competitor. Keisel added that Taylor loves the game and it was not easy to see him go down after playing numerous games with the team.

The arm of Taylor was hit by linebacker Lawrence Timmons as the two players attempted a tackle after the Pittsburgh Steelers took the lead. A number of the teammates of Taylor said a prayer on the field as he was tended by medical personnel on the field. He was able to walk off the field while holding his forearm.

Shazier also left the field after encountering problems with his right knee. He led Pittsburgh with his three tackles in the first half. Jones had the biggest play of the game before he left the field. He hurt his wrist after hitting Cam Newton, the quarterback of the Panthers.

The 81-yard run of Le’Veon Bell set up a yard touchdown that allowed Pittsburgh to increase its lead to 23-6. It was the second seven-yard touchdown of the team during the game.

Taylor will be replaced by William Gay at the right cornerback position. On the other hand, Arthur Moats and Sean Spence will replace Jones and Shazier if they will not suit up for their next game of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
