3 Natural Sites With Incredible Phenomenon

We can all agree that nature is amazing and can offer some of the richest and most breath-taking views possible. In some places on the planet, nature offers some very unexpected, even inexplicable  views that are even more amazing and can be a great destination for tourists that seek the less beaten yet highly unusual path.

While most of these phenomenon’s are explained by modern science some are still believed to have some supernatural links, but whatever they might be they are definitely worth checking out.

Sailing Stones located in Death Valley, California

This is one that puzzled scientists for a long time. The site is located near the Racetrack Playa Lakebed and basically consists of rocks that seem to have walked across the lake bed leaving a trail in the sand. A recent hypothesis suggests that the movement of the rocks is caused by strong winds and the slickness of the lake bed.

Luminescent Plankton in San Juan Island, Washington State

While bioluminescence occurs in many places throughout the world, the waters around Washington State are some of the most incredible places to see this phenomenon. Strong currents bring a plethora of nutrients to the area, attracting an abundance of bioluminescent plankton.

Catatumbo lightning on the Catatumbo River, Venezuela

This region offers some of the most amazing sights in the world as the lightning show brightens the sky for over 300 nights a year. The phenomenon has been going on for centuries but has taken a couple of months off after the 2010 El Nino.
