4 Tourist Fashion Statements You Might Want To Avoid
When people are travelling they seem to put functionality and safety before their fashion statement, and while there is definitely nothing wrong with that, you might want to avoid a couple of fashion faux pas.
The classic sandals with socks. This goes especially for older men, as they seem to be the ones most likely to commit this fashion crime. If you want warm feet, why wear sandals? If you want the comfort of having ventilation, why wear socks?
Fanny packs are another classic staple of the tourist that simply scream “I’m new here, could you possibly rob me and make fun of my style while you do so?”. Wearing your money in your front pockets, a cross body bag or a theft proof bag can all be better alternatives that the old fanny pack.
Souvenir shirts are another bad idea. While I’m sure you want to remember your vacation forever, try not to wear your “I heart [insert city name here]” while you’re in that city as it will only look cheap. Even better, invest some money in a nice shirt that you can brag about to your friends back home.
Full on tracksuits are also something to be avoided. While nobody can deny they are comfortable, you don’t need to look like you’re suddenly going to burst into working out while visiting an art museum. A comfy pair of jeans and a shirt should be enough of a fashion statement for any tourist.
