Optimus Prime Transforms the Box Office Record

It is EPIC! "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" has now bagged the year’s best box office opening weekend, truly the producers and everyone involved in the film are now patting their backs for yet another victory.

Michael Bay had surely spent a lot of time in the making of this $195 million third installment to the Transformers’ franchise. The “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” has said to have collected $97.4 million over the weekend alone, beating Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” with the main man Johnny Depp, this is according to the studio estimates.

Shia LaBeouf still had that boyish charm that earned him the hearts of the ladies and the absence of Megan Fox didn’t exactly made a dent on the movie’s value. Meanwhile, the arrival of the new characters such as that of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Patrick Dempsey surely made the plot thicken.

Although the numbers have been high and the returns are still favorable, it is quite noticeable that the sequel 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' still maintains its record which is $214.9 million in six days, domestic sales alone. Paramount estimated that 62% of the Transformers: Dark of the Moon audience was male and was 55% younger than 25 years old.

This would surely become one of the main considerations for future films. But somehow it still seems that the trilogy hasn’t ended yet.
