Royal couple, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived inLos AngelesU.S.last Friday in a Canadian military jet, after a nine-day trip toCanada. They were greeted by several officials including California Gov. Jerry Brown and his wife Ann Gust, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa andBritain’s ambassador to theU.S., Sir Nigel Sheinwald.
It is said that the royal couple has been well received by the Canadian crowd due to their natural charisma and informal playfulness on their first official trip abroad. The royal couple’s trip is centered on business, which includes fundraising for good causes, promoting investments inBritainand a few charitable works. Despite their hectic schedule, they were able to squeeze in, a game of polo in the seaside city ofSanta Barbara. The couples’ first event is a technology summit inBeverly Hillswhich aims to promoteU.S.investment in British tech firms, they were escorted by a California Highway Patrol motorcade to avoid the rush-our traffic.
This is Kate’s first trip to theU.S., and that meant that it will be a huge media event for the paparazzis, however, they have been warned that any aggressive actions will be dealt with accordingly. It should be noted that the Duke’s mother Princess Diana, was killed in a car accident involving a paparazzi chase.
