Halle Berry’s house intruder gets a restraining order
The 44-year-old Oscar winning actress Halle Berry filed a restraining order against a man who was believed to have intruded three times on her Los Angeles property recently.
The Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson ruled in favor of Berry, granting her a temporary restraining order that directs Richard A. Franco, the 27-year-old alleged intruder to stay 100 yards away from Berry and her young daughter.
A book with “nonsensical ramblings” was found in the possession of Franco and written on it was Berry’s name in his handwriting, and he also has a history of violence, theft and drug offenses. Berry first saw Franco last Saturday, when he approached Berry’s home while the actress was talking to her manager. Franco was apparently in the gated backyard and left when Berry’s manager yelled at him. She also mentioned an incident last Sunday that made her panic and fear for her life, because Franco was already on the other side of a glass door of her kitchen.
It was at that evening that they made arrangements to have armed security officers at the actress’ home, which resulted to Franco being caught on Monday.
Berry said in her statement that, "This person has invaded and trampled upon the most fundamental sense of security I have and I am extremely frightened of him and what he might do to me or those I love,"
Franco was charged with a suspicion of stalking and is being held in jail with a bail that was set at $150,000, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
