Jeopardy host injured After Burglar Chase

San Francisco, California — Alex Trebek, host of Jeopardy, injured his tendon of Achilles while he was running to catch the burglar that broke inside his hotel room in San Francisco. The thief was able to sneak inside his hotel room and stole money, a piece of jewelry and other valuable items.

Trebek also said in an interview that he injured his leg when he fell down the stairs during his chase with the burglar early Wednesday. He arrived in Mountain View to host the show Nat Geo World Champioship on crutches later that day. Trebek is already 71 years old and the injuries he suffered might have been very hard for him.

Police at San Francisco identified the female suspect already in  the of Lucinda Moyers. She was arrested after some of Trebek’s valuable properties were recovered from her. However, the bracelet and the cash forcibly stolen were yet to be recovered. Troy Dangerfield, San Francisco police lieutenant, said that some of the items stolen were found at the hotel’s ice machine.

Trebek will undergo further medical examinations are he is scheduled for a surgery Friday for the multiple injuries he suffered after chasing the burglar. He is expected to take a 6 weeks rest after the surgery.
