Mexican student arrested for Planning Anti-Pope Attack

Madrid — A chemistry student has recently been arrested by the Spanish police after his planned gas attack against the anti-Pope protests and demonstrations for the upcoming visit of Pope Benedict XVI was discovered by authorities in Spain.  The Pope is expected to arrive Thursday for a four day visit to attend the World Youth Day Celebration in Madrid.

Anti-Pope visit demonstrations and protests are expected Wednesday evening in the Spanish capital city.  The identity of the suspect has already been released. He is a 24 year old student originally from Mexico and is studying organic chemistry. The detainee’s name has been identified through a statement from the Mexican Embassy. He is Jose Perez Bautista from the state of Puebla near the city of Mexico.

Police were able to locate his apartment in a rich and wealthy Madrid neighborhood.  Authorities were able to seize two notebooks with unsual chemical equations inside the notebooks and proven not related to his current studies. An external hard drive was also confiscated. Authorities also confirmed that the detainee had utilized the Internet to recruit more people that will help him in executing his dirty plan.

The report also indicated that Bautista had planned to use suffocating gases and other toxic chemicals in the alleged attack. The statement did not include whether police were able to confiscate the said chemicals that should have been plotted for the planned attack.
