Increasing Male Deaths Due to Prostate Cancer Linked to Use of Oral Contraceptive

Latest research findings state that usage of contraceptive pill is a contributing factor to the most common male cancer, the Prostate cancer. Researchers from International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the United Nations World Contraceptive Use determined the connection between prostate cancer and deaths. Findings were analyzed for every nation around the world to distinguish if the use of contraceptive pill causes or contributes to increasing patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Based on the results, it shows that usage of intrauterine devices such as condoms and vaginal barriers does not cause prostate cancer. However, the use of contraceptive pill was found out to be connected to the illness and death of an individual caused by prostate cancer. Likewise, several recent studies showed that oestrogen exposure boosts the risk of prostate cancer. Too much of oestrogen is widely known to cause cancer and global use of it may raise environmental levels of EDCs or endocrine disruptive compounds.

Since contraceptive pills don’t break down easily, it can be transferred to the urine and end up in the drinking water supply. Thus, exposing the whole population to the risk and probably will lead to prostate cancer or other ailments.
