Another Celebrity Divorce: Russel Brand and Katy Perry end marriage

British Actor and comedian Russell Brand called it quits with its 14-month marriage to Teenage Dream star to Katy Perry on Friday (December 30)  filling for divorce in an LA court on the grounds of irreconcilable differences between the couple. Brand, 36 starred in the movie ‘Get Him to the Greek’ and US Pop star Perry, 26 met in 2008 and married in October 23, 2010 on a lavish wedding in India.

The irreverent former drug addict and this quirky Christian-raised singer of International hits like California Girls and Fireworks seemed an unlikely match but they quickly began a high profile couple in the entertainment industry.

But recently, rumors circulated that the marriage was in trouble after they spent Christmas apart, Brand in London while his wife was in Hawaii with friends and neither were photographed wearing a wedding ring. Various tabloid reports indicated that the couple had a large argument shortly before the holiday.

The couple was a last minute addition to the list of celebrity couples who saw their relationships break up in public in 2011, proving once again that not all matches in Hollywood have a fairytale ending. Other couples who ended their relationship were Singer and Actress Jennifer Lopez and Latin Pop singer Mark Anthony decided to end their marriage after 7years. While Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher ended their marriage after 6 years. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and Basketball player Kris Humphries filed for divorce just 72 days after their fairy tale wedding.
