TV Series “House” Airing its Final Season

One of the most sought-after medical drama series on TV "House" ends in April after its eighth season, producers announced on Wednesday.

"House", which stars the British actor Hugh Laurie as the weirdest but the most brilliant doctor named Gregory House in the TV series, commenced in 2004 and will have shown 175 episodes (eight seasons) when it concludes in April.

Executive producers of “House” have decided to end the show after its eighth season after so much deliberation as the show has been rating high in the past.

The medical series "House" was among the top ten high-rating TV series shown in the United States from 2005-2008 and was also shown in some sixty-six other countries.  But the producers of the TV series also announced that the U.S. ratings have declined in the past two years to about half the 20 million viewers who enjoyed the show when it was still at its peak.

The program was nominated four times in Emmy Awards for best drama but was not able to win, although its lead character actor Hugh Laurie won two Screen Actors Guild and two Golden Globes awards for his portrayal of the character of a cranky yet highly intelligent doctor.
