Whitney Houston's Funeral Will Be Broadcasted Live

Legendary Pop Icon Whitney Houston’s funeral today is to be broadcasted on television and web streaming from the New Jersey church where she had once been a choir singer.

The funeral services, to be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, will be an invitation-only and a more intimate setting compared to packed concert stadiums and arenas Houston used to have during her heyday.  She is definitely going home.

Celebrated actor Kevin Costner, who starred with Whitney in the movie "The Bodyguard," will speak, and singers Aretha Franklin (Houston's godmother) and Stevie Wonder will perform, according to a reliable source.

Giving the eulogy at New Hope Baptist Church will be the longtime friend of the Houston family, pastor and Gospel singer Marvin L. Winans.

Although Whitney’s family did not divulge any information as to where the burial location is, her death certificate filed on Wednesday in Los Angeles lists it as Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.

Aside from actor Kevin Costner and singers Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, confirmed names on the guest list are songwriter Diane Warren, Chaka Khan, Bebe & CeCe Winans, pop singer Darlene Love, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Antonio "L.A." Reid, Ray J and Brandy.

Singer Dionne Warwick, Houston's cousin, was helping the family with funeral arrangements, Warwick's publicist said, though it wasn’t mentioned whether Dionne would also render a song as a last tribute for Whitney.

Family and friends plead that we shouldn’t remember the Whitney who was having troubles and adversities in her later years, but the Whitney who has contributed a lot to the music and entertainment industry.

Goodbye, Whitney.  We will surely miss you.
