Aussie Hunk Russell Crowe and Wife Spencer End 9-Year Romance
After nine long years of marriage, the Oscar winning actor, Russell Crowe and his musician wife, Danielle Spencer finally legalized their separation.
The couple first met on the set of the film The Crossing, 22 years ago. The lovers then decided to get married at a chapel on the Gladiator star's farm in Nana Glen, Australia in April 2003. It is understood that the split was amicable and that the couple's main concern now is protecting their two sons Charles, 8 and Tennyson, 6, from the public spotlight.
It is settled that Spencer will remain at the Rose Bay property with the boys while Crowe will reside at the couple’s $14 million Woolloomooloo apartment which is close to the gym he owns.
It is thought that the demands of Crowe's acting career may have been a factor in the split. He has been away from Spencer, 43, and his children for much of the past year, filming Man with the Iron Fist, Les Miserables, Broken City, Man of Steel and now, Noah.
The news is a shock as the couple was thought to have had a solid marriage.
In an interview, Spencer shared, “All that stuff has nothing to do with me as a person”. Spencer has kept a low profile throughout her marriage to the superstar.
Crowe wrote a moving open letter to his sons five years ago in which he praised his wife. "I know I will have brought you up to love your mother above all . . . You have no idea how much our lives have been blessed by you."
