Motivational Speaker Zig Ziglar dies at age 86
Zig Ziglar died this Wednesday in Dallas after a complicated case of pneumonia. Ziglar, the famous salesman, author and motivational speaker best known for his up-beat type of motivational speaking and for a bibliography consisting of more than 30 books began his career as a salesman, working for various companies around the United States where he first started public speaking and honing his craft as a motivational speaker.
He began his career as a motivational speaker around the time he was 40, in the 1970’s publishing his first book by the age of 49. He was a born again Christian having had a religious awakening at the age of 42, an awakening that would later influence the rest of his motivational speaking career and life.
He was born in Coffe County, Alabama on the 6th of November 1926. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and in 1944 he met his Wife Jean with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage earlier this year. He is also survived by two daughters and a son.
Considered by peers to be one of the most influential motivational speakers in the world, Ziglar considers that his tough childhood and upbringing gave him the tools he needed to easily connect with people.
