Fifth Installment In Pacquiao-Marquez Fight HInted

It appears that a fifth installment of the Pacquiao-Marquez fight is possible as hinted in the news conference after the fight.

The fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manual Marquez ended in a late sixth-round stoppage of the Filipino boxing icon by the Mexican legend. Marquez was already trailing on the judges' scorecards following a knockdown in round five. Pacquiao also punished Marquez with a number of strong blows before the fateful last second knockout punch in the sixth round of the fight.

The fourth Pacquiao-Marquez fight followed a pair of close decisions that saw Pacquiao winning over Marquez.

Top Rank president, Todd Duboef indicated that everyone is looking for a fifth fight between the great fighters. Dubeof added that the series is the most exciting one in the last fifty years.

Mark Taffet, president of HBO pay-per-view, indicated that the two fighters were familiar with each other and were determined to give it their all for the fight.

The third round saw Pacquaio getting knocked down for the first time since 2003. The Filipino fighter indicated before the bout that he can withstand the best punch of Marquez. However, Marquez was able to land a soft right as Pacquiao was moving forward in the sixth round.

The blow sent  Pacquiao face first into the canvass and it took a number of seconds before he became conscious again. Marquez revealed that he was happy when the referee raised his hand and credited his training for the result of the fight.

Marquez indicated that he is going to rest for a while and celebrate his win. He is more focused on celebrating rather than on who he will go up against next. On the other hand, Pacquiao was open to the possibility of a fifth installment of the Pacquiao-Marquez fight.

Pacquiao was ahead on all the judges' scorecards at 46-47 at the end of the fifth round. Marquez would have gone down to 57-55 at the end of the sixth round with the punishing that he was receiving. However, the Mexican fighter was confident that he was going to win the fight even before it started.
