Rookies May Lead Redskins Against The Dallas Cowboys

The quarterbacks of the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys will initially be highlighted during their game, especially with the NFC East championship at stake.

However, with a possible drop in temperature at the FedEx Field, the running backs of the two teams will likely be in the spotlight during the game instead of Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys and Robert Griffin of the Washington Redskins. Griffin is currently a candidate for the Rookie of the Year due to his past performances, including the Thanksgiving victory over Dallas where he completed 71.4 percent of all his passes.

Another rookie who may be in the spotlight is Redskins running back, Alfred Morris. His 1,413 yards at 302 attempts has allowed Washington to top the league in rush offense. He also played a significant role in the six-game win streak of the team that allowed them to lead the division.

Morris is expected to have a big game since the defense of the Dallas Cowboys is currently depleted due to injuries. Five of the best stoppers of the team are out on injuries. According to Marcus Spears, defensive end of the Dallas Cowboys, Morris is averaging nearly 120 rushing yards each game, and teams like these usually win the game.

On the other hand, DeMarco Murray, running back of Dallas, will be available for the game. Following his return from an injury, Murray had three touchdown runs in four games and rushed 80-plus yards twice.

The Redskins are currently fifth when it comes to rushing defense while the Cowboys are 31st when it comes to rushing offense. Jason Garret, coach of the Dallas Cowboys, indicated that the Redskins have a great run defense, which they have been using for some time already.
