Apple And Walmart Make A Great Offer For The iPhone 5
Apple’s new iPhone 5 can be bought at Walmart stores with the Straight Talk Wireless package as a pre-paid option with no contract for the sum of $45.
Walmart and Apple will release this offer starting this Friday, January 11th. The Straight Talk package offers two options both with no contract.
The first is a $45 option, with unlimited talk, text and data. The second option is a slightly more expensive $60 which adds to the unlimited talk, text and data, unlimited international calls to a number of selected countries.
This is a bald move by Walmart who sold the iPhone 5 previously but only with a 2 year contract. Seong Ohm, senior VP of Entertainment at Walmart said in a press conference “We believe customers shouldn't have to choose between saving money and having the latest technology.”
The iPhone 5 with the Walmart exclusive $45 monthly option is the most financially attractive offer for a high end smartphone in the U.S.
F.J. Pollak CEO of TracFone Wireless said that “With this offer the last reason for not purchasing the No Contract Straight Talk plan is gone.”
The 16 GB iPhone 5 can be bought in both black and white for $649 while the 8 GB iPhone 4 can be bought in black or white for $449 with the Straight Talk no-contract option.
