“Les Miserables” inspired Anne Hathaway so much that she dreamed of becoming an actress when she was still six years old.

In the same musical, the best supporting actress award at the Oscars as she played the role of Fantine, a seamstress who became a prostitute. The win at the Academy Awards is the crowning glory of the career of the thirty-year-old actress. She has copped a number of awards for her role in the world-renowned musical.

Anne Hathaway won over Sally Field for the supporting actress award at the Oscars. Sally Field was considered the closest rival of the actress in the category.

The inspiration of Hathaway came after she watched her mother play the same role she played in a production. Previous movie credits of the actress include “The Dark Knight Rises”, “The Devil Wears Prada” and “The Princess Diaries.”

The actress had to lose around 25 pounds for the role of Fantine in the musical. Her weight loss was too much that she was told to stop by her director. Tom Hooper indicated that he thought the actress will overdo her weight loss, which was the reason why he asked her to stop.

Although she was given positive reviews by Oscar voters, the actress had mixed feelings about herself. Anne Hathaway did not say much when she was asked if she was satisfied with her own performance in the movie prior to its release on the big screen.
