Beppo Grillo Gets Fantastic Score In Italy’s Elections
The winner of Italy’s elections held yesterday, Pier Luigi Bersani is trying to convince the other major winner, comedian Beppo Grillo and his Five Star Movement, or M5S into a governing coalition.
At a press conference held after he was announced victorious, Bersani said that the time for more than words had come for Grillo’s movement. He said that while saying that all politicians should go home, they are now politicians too, and they must decide what measures they will take for the benefit of their country and children, or go home too.
Bersani also said that while his center left coalition had won a majority in the lower house of the Italian government, and the most seats in the Senate, they should be the ones running the show in regards to how Italy should be governed, even with the deadlock in the upper house.
Bersani also categorically refused Silvio Berlusconi’s idea of a grand coalition with the right, and proposed a five point plan to reform Italy’s and to regain prosperity while heading away from the seemingly endless recession.
While saying that he will meet with Italain president Georgio Napolitano, to negotiate the future government, Beppo Grillo said that he is not the leader of the M5S movement and that it will reamain as anti establishement as when it was started three years ago.
