Ravens Quarter Back Joe Flacco Signs Huge Contract

Joe Flacco quarter back for the Baltimore Ravens has signed a new contract that makes him the highest paid player in the history of the NFL.

His new contract stands to earn him $120.6 million over the next six years with a guaranteed $52 million in the first two years. He will also get a $29 million signing bonus.

Flacco is the only QB in NFL history to reach the playoffs every season in the first five years of his career. During this time he has led his team to no less than nine wins, tying Tom Brady for the number of wins in the first five years.

Flacco made 11 touchdown passes with no interceptions in the last season leading the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers by 34 to 31.

He said that it is just a matter of time before some other winning QB sings a new contract that makes him the biggest paid player in the NFL, and that this is the way the game works.

Flacco refused to sign a contract before 2012, one that would have earned him close to $15 million a year. He apparently made the right decision, by holding out, and his gamble paid off big time.

Joe Flacco said that the biggest risk was that he would get injured in that time, however, he knew that a big performance would come with the Ravens, even if it wouldn't have been the Super Bowl.
