China’s Old Leadership Leaves Power To New Generation

President Hu Jintao and his team that led China in the past decade will take a step back leaving the country's leadership to Xi Jinping after a period of government that made the communist giant the second biggest economy on the planet and a true world power.

Wen Jiabo who helped lead the Chinese Government along with Hu Jintao for the past 10 years said his goodbyes along with the entire government in front of the National People’s Congress consisting of 3000 members.

He listed the long list of achievements of his ten year reign especially the process through which China overtook Japan and became the world’s second largest economy.

In his gigantic 29 page report the former leader spoke about a list of achievements including creating a vast infrastructure that ranged from high speed trains to airports and highways, and development in the  economic, and industrial sectors.

He spoke about some of the country’s challenges especially the need to increase the fight against corruption, and the risk of excessive concentration of power.

He also addressed issues like the sometimes chaotic and unsustainable development, the disparities between classes and regions and even a risk in the financial sector. Another discussion topic was the importance of maintaining a balance between China's financial development and environmental values.
