Tiger Woods Brings A Game At The Blue Monster

Any time Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy would go head to head the result would be close and rather unpredictable.

This week’s WGC-Cadillac Championship should have went the same way, however, things took a turn as Tiger seems to have brought his A game to the event.

McIlroy had a 73 round that was the perfect metaphor for his entire 2013 season, as it was a roller coaster ride where McIlroy made five bogeys, three birdies and an eagle.

He made nine birdies opening with a 6 under 66 with McIlroy struggling to find his game.

Woods seems to have a history of good games at Doral, and gave a glimpse of the form that made him one of the best golfers of all time. He opened with a par on the par-5 10th and managed to get birdies on numbers 11 and 12 after which he got bogeys to bring him back to an even par.

On the 16th hole Woods began a stretch of four birdies in the next five holes and stopped just close to having ten birdies in the last round.

The secret behind Tiger Woods’ performance seemed to be the putting lessons he had on Wednesday with Steve Strucker Ryder and President’s Cup partner.
