Valerie Harper Feels Fine After Cancer Announcement

Although she is suffering from an incurable brain cancer, Valerie Harper said that she is feeling good, and she wants to enjoy every moment of her life.

She said that she has been receiving calls, text and email messages after announcing her predicament. She indicated that her life expectancy is only three months and she may have an attack anytime due to the nature of the cancer.

Although the cancer is incurable, she will not say that it is terminal since everyone is terminal. The main thing is that people do not go to the funeral until it happens. She added that as she was having chemotherapy sessions, she felt better compared to when the symptoms initially emerged.

Valerie Harper indicated that the symptoms, which include nausea and back pains, are happening less often. She is undergoing chemotherapy to prevent the cancer from spreading even though it is incurable.

She indicated that her husband dais that if the cancer can be slowed down, a treatment or even a cure may come out soon enough. According to her doctors, she may still have a week, three or six months, or even an entire year to live. Aside from preparing to say farewell, she is also preparing for a remission of the disease, if it will come.

She was able to make the announcement in a number of media appearances. Valerie Harper said that she wanted everyone to know what is happening. She also wanted people to see that they should live their life and not waste time.

Valerie Harper starred in the classic sitcoms, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda. She was inspired to give a talk about what was happening when she wrote her memoir that was released last January. The memoir celebrates how she beat lung cancer a number of years ago.

She also revealed her coping mechanism in her current situation. She indicated that would cry when she is in a deep moment of sadness. She added that she had a great run and life does not owe her anything. Although she does not want to go, Valerie Harper accepted that it is a reality, and she wanted to do what she can to encourage people to live their lives to the fullest while they are still her.
