Kobe Bryant Was Fouled By Dahntay Jones, According To The NBA
The National Basketball Association agreed to the view of Kobe Bryant that he was the dangerous defense of Dahntay Jones led to his injury recently. The injury may keep the star player of the Los Angeles Lakers for the rest of the season.
The Lakers shooting guard said that it was the worst ankle injury that he had in his career. For the moment, the Lakers have indicated that he will be out indefinitely.
The NBA also indicated that a foul should have been called on Jones during the play. Bryant landed on the foot of Jones as he attempted to tie the game with the Atlanta Hawks. He crumpled to the floor before leaving. He was upset with Jones, who slid under him as he took the shot. The message posted by Kobe Bryant on Twitter included the “cleanupthegame” hashtag.
A video confirmed that a foul should have been called in the play, the NBA indicated. The website of the league showed a statement that a foul call was missed by referees as Jones challenged the shot of Kobe Bryant.
The challenge prevented the shooting guard to land cleanly on the floor. The statement also indicated that two free throws should have been given to the Lakers star. The Lakers only has a half-game lead over Utah for the last playoff spot of the Western Conference.
Bryant is the third-leading scorer in the NBA and is a rather tough player. His game has allowed the Lakers to stay in contention for a playoff slot despite the troubles it has experienced throughout the season. The Lakers player also tweeted that Jones knew what happened and he did not want anyone else to experience it.
Prior to the incident, Dahntay Jones also tried to trip Kobe Bryant in the fourth game of the Western Conference finals in 2009.
