New Windows Tablets From Dell To Be Released Within The Year

A number of new Windows tablets are set to be released by Dell within the year, some of which will have a screen size that is bigger than ten inches.

The mobile products and solutions vice president of Dell, Steve Lalla, revealed that the upcoming devices will be new models of its current tablet lineup and will replace the Dell XPS 10 and Latitude 10. However, he did not reveal the specific release dates of these devices.

A number of convertible tablets as well as slimmer and lighter laptops are also expected to be released by the company. The new Windows tablet offerings of Dell are designed for home and office use. Its future tablets will also feature cloud and encryption functionalities as well as an enhanced remote management feature.

However, the Windows RT tablet offering of Dell, the XPS 10, has not performed well in the market as the company reduced their prices by $50 recently. Despite this, Dell is still collaborating with ARM with their product offerings. The new Windows tablets that will succeed the Latitude 10 may be released at around the same time the Bay Trail processor of Intel will enter the market.

In addition to the latest Atom processor, Intel is also expected to release the fourth-generation Core processor that is based on the Haswell architecture. The upcoming Windows OS will offer power management features, which will increase the battery life of new Windows tablets and laptops using the Haswell architecture.

The announcement came amid talks of a buyout, which CEO Michael Dell is opposing. The developments have dismayed some customers, who are concerned with the plans of the company particularly with the PC segment. However, Michael Dell informed employees that the company will continue investing in tablets and PCs.

He indicated that the company intends to increase its investment in the tablet and PC business to improve its competitiveness in the market. Although the plan of the company is to optimize gross margins, it is expected to concentrate on increase cash flow and revenue with the goal of enhancing its position in the market and increasing long-term sales.

The company is currently assessing the bids and it appears that the board is inclined in supporting the original bid of Michael Dell, which includes a loan from Microsoft. This may ensure that Dell will continue to offer Windows devices including new Windows tablet and laptops.
