Rasheed Wallace Retires From The NBA

Rasheed Wallace has been dealing with a left foot injury for the best part of this season, and made Coach Mike Woodson tell reporters that he might not be available for this Wednesday’s game against Boston.

Shortly after coach Woodson said that he learned that Wallace will not play in any game for the remainder of the season as he is retiring after playing 15 seasons in the NBA.

Coach Woodson released a statement in which he said that Wallace gave the New York Knicks everything he had and that he is a winner, a true professional and a leader both on and off the court. He also added that The Knicks owe their success especially this season to veterans like Rasheed.

This is the second time Wallace has retired after winning the 2004 NBA championship for the Detroit Pistons and coming close to repeating the performance with the Boston Celtics in 2010.

Coach Woodson, who won the Championship with Wallace in Detroit convinced him to join the Knicks during the off season.

The Knicks had a fantastic start and Rasheed Wallace played an important role in their fantastic results however it seem the match wasn’t made to last with Wallace’s injuries keeping him off the court since December.
