50 Shades Of Gray Finds Leading Man In Charle Hunnam
Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson have been announced to play the main characters in Sam Taylor-Johnson’s adaptation of EL James’ hit novel “50 Shades of Grey”.
Charlie Hunnam, best known from his role in the cult classic “Sons of Anarchy” but also for starring in this summer’s big budget blockbuster “Pacific Rim” will be playing the eccentrically kinky billionaire Christian Grey.
Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson who has also starred in movies like “The Social Network” and “The Five Year Engagement” and will play the Anastasia Steele.
The big news was announced by the book’s author, EL James via her Twitter account.
Speculation on who will play the leading roles in the big screen adaptation was a huge guessing game since news of the movie broke in March 2013.
The movie will show Anastasia Steele as a well-paid sex slave for the rich business man Christian Grey. It will be directed by Sam Taylor Johnson who was announced to the surprise of many as the director at a press conference in June. Johnson only directed one more movie, a critically acclaimed John Lennnon biography back in 2009.
The books were written as a Twilight saga tribute but rose to popularity and managed to get their own extremely large fan base.
