Asus Transformer Book T100 Introduced During The Intel Developer Forum

The Asus Transformer Book T100 was introduced during the recent Intel Developer Forum. The device is similar to the original convertible device that was introduced last year during the Computex event. The convertible device is one of the two new systems that Asus has added into its Transformer Book lineup.

The T100 utilizes the Bay Trail platform, which is the latest quad-core processor of Intel. The device also features a dockable design that will allow it to be used as a tablet or laptop. The Student and Home versions of MS Office 2013 will reportedly be pre-installed on the device when it reaches the market, according to Asus.

In addition to the Transformer Book T100 of Asus, the company also launched the Asus Transformer Book Trio. The device was initially unveiled during the Computex last June. Although the design of the device has similarities to the T100, the keyboard dock of the Book Trio features its own Core i7 processor. This indicates that two people can use the device simultaneously when the screen is removed from the keyboard dock.

Whenever the device is docked, users can opt to use either the Android 4.2 OS or the Windows 8 OS. The Trio features a 1.6GHZ Atom Z2760 processor from Intel.

An Asus Chromebook using the Haswell architecture was also introduced by the company in addition to the T100 and Trio.

The 32GB model of the T100 will reportedly cost around $349 when it will be released into the US market. The 64GB model will have a price tag of $399. The company did not reveal the price of the Asus Transformer Book Trio. The release schedule of the Trio remains uncertain since no statements were released by Asus in connection to its entry into the market.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 will be released into the market by October 18, which is the same date as the release of the Windows 8.1 OS.
