Julianne Moore To Star In “Hunger Games” Sequels

Actress Julianne Moore will apparently star in the two part sequel to “The Hunger Games”. This is one of the actress’ most daring roles as she will star in a movie targeted at younger adults. The film distributor, Lionsgate, has confirmed the news this Friday.

The former Oscar nominee will play President Alma Coin in both parts of the movie called “Mockingjay”. She will be interpreting the leader of the rebel alliance, a rough dictatorship that holds all the strings in the futuristic and dystopian capital city of Panem.

Moore won’t be the only actress with Oscar pedigree starring in the two movies as Jennifer Lawrence will play the leading heroine called Katniss Everdeen. She will play a young girl that won a savage TV show that was, in reality a survival competition where the losers actually die.

The two parts of the movie should come out in November 2014 and November 2015. Moore is an Oscar favorite having been nominated four times but with no wins as of yet. “The Hunger Games” is based on the books of Suzanne Collins. “The Hunger Games” was one of the biggest grossing movies of last year raking in nearly $400 million in North America and has made its cast veritable household names.
