Floyd Mayweather Wins Easy Fight With Canelo Alvarez

Floyd Mayweather Jr. didn't seem to have any problems in the match against Canelo Alvarez, earning himself yet another huge paycheck, showing why he got the nickname “Money” Mayweather.

This Satuday night gave us a completely uneven match with a very in shape Mayweather dominating the match from one end to the other and winning by a majority decision.

Although general data collected before the match suggested that Alvarez was bigger and had a stronger punch, Saturday night’s fight showed nothing of the sort. It did show, if anything, a very sharp and strong Mayweather who seems to have lost none of his speed or attitude.

After the fight Mayweather seemed unusually humble saying that he listened to the people in his corner, especially his dad who he credits with coming up with a “great game plan”. He said the execution part was up to him and he managed to do it as planned.

The key element was speed and in this fight it was all on Mayweather’s side as he managed to land his punches and evade Alavrez’s with near perfect synchronization.

With a guaranteed $41.5 million paycheck and some extra $32 million after the win against Robert Guererro back in May, Floyd Mayweather earned close to $73 million in just two fights making him one of the best paid athletes of all time.
