Mariano Rivera Bobblehead Dolls Cause Mania
The Bronx is just about ready to catch fire, and it’s not because the Yankees added another trophy to their fantastic case, it’s because the Mariano Rivera bobblehead dolls that were greatly anticipated by fans arrived a couple of hours late.
This Saturday, fans didn’t line up to watch the Yankees try to save their season and get into the play-offs but rather preferred to stand in line to receive the free bobblehead doll portraying one of the all-time greats of the sport, Mariano Rivera who retired this Sunday.
The retirement ceremony for Rivera was incredible and was thought to be resumed this Tuesday in front of 18,000 fans.
Things didn't go exactly as planned and after a 30 minute delay in opening the gates to the scores of fans waiting outside, instead of the bobblehead dolls, vouchers were given out.
During the middle of the first inning fans were made aware that they can exchange their vouchers from that point until 30 minutes after the game ended. Immediately lines were formed with a good amount of the fans missing the game in order to get their free tokens.
Most fans agreed that the only thing that stopped a riot was the knowledge that there were enough Mariano Rivera bobblehead dolls for everyone.
