Bridget Jones Author To Kill Mark Darcy In New Book
All of Bridget Jones’ fandom seems to have had a major nightmare when news that author Helen Fielding will kill one of the most beloved character in the “Bridget Jones” saga, Mark Darcy was leaked.
In some exclusively published extracts published in the Sunday Times this Monday, Fielding seems to have killed Bridget Jones’ husband and “father to her two children”. “Mad About The Boy” is the name of the new book that will seem to debut with news of Darcy’s death.
Many of the writer's fans took to social media websites posting rage filled questions, asking what was Fielding thinking and what will the tone of the new book be like if it starts off like this.
Helen Fielding is due to speak at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in November, by which time most fans hope to find out more about the horrific plot that has left so many of them shocked and disappointed.
Helen published her first novel “Bridget Jones’s Diary” back in 1996 and published a sequel called “Bridget Jones: The edge of reason” three years later in 1999. In 2001 a movie adaptation starring Colin Firth, Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant became one of the most popular movies of the year.
