The loss of the Detroit Lions last Sunday indicated that the team needs Calvin Johnson in its lineup. Detroit lost to the Green Bay Packers 22-9.

However, it appeared that the star player of Detroit nearly played in the game even with his injured knee. Johnson was listed as questionable during the week before he was declared inactive for the game.

The wide receiver indicated that it was close and he will work hard to get back into the game. Detroit is hoping that the knee injury of Johnson is not long-term. The injury is different from the strain that he suffered last season.

Jim Schwartz, coach of Detroit, indicated that Calvin Johnson is a tough player and hard worker. He added that Johnson will work hard to ensure that he joins lineup as soon as possible.

Johnson is the leading receiver of the Lions with of 21 receptions for a total of 312 yards.

He also has four touchdowns. Schwartz did not make any speculations on when the player will return to the lineup. Calvin Johnson also compels Opposing defenses top double-team.

Even the teammates of Johnson are uncertain when the player would return to the lineup. Matthew Stafford, quarterback of Detroit, indicated that he was not sure if Johnson will be considered inactive for the game on Saturday. However, this was not final until the team is finished with its warm-ups.

Kris Durham, Lions receiver, indicated that everyone had an idea that Johnson would not play. The team was preparing for the possibility that he will not join the lineup. However, they were not sure until Calvin Johnson came out and was tested during the warm-ups.
