Weekday Diet Important In Maintaining Weight Loss
A new study performed by a mixed team of American and Finnish researchers found that in order to keep weight off, people should pay closer attention to their eating habits during weekdays and let the occasional weekend splurge pass every now and then.
According to the study results most people manage to lose weight during week days and gain a part of it back during weekends. Brian Wansink, a professor at the Cornell University says the study shows that most people weigh the most on Sunday nights and the least on Friday mornings.
While all this was known to some degree for decades by nutritionists, the study showed that people who manage to lose weight and keep it off are those who have better control over their weekday eating habits. For these people, weight loss began immediately Monday morning and continued to drop until Friday. People who managed to overall gain weight didn’t have the same steep curve in weight drop during weekdays and didn't manage to compensate enough for their weekend excesses.
The study was published in the journal of Obesity Facts on the 31st of January. Nearly 80 people took part in the study ages 25 to 62. They were asked to weigh themselves before breakfast for varying periods of time that could be anywhere from two weeks to several months.
